1. COLLEGE MARKETER

Journey is seeking a talented College Marketer to build and lead our college program.

 This role is for the right individual to be a key part of Journey’s growth and development, and includes:

- building college marketing program

- leading outreach and engagement to local colleges

- working with campus ambassadors and holding them to success metrics

- booking speaking gigs for Journey founders at colleges and partner programs

- other activities tbd.

 

This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in social entrepreneurship, grassroots and network marketing.

The successful candidate should hold qualifications and deep interest in the following areas:

 

1. Research and Development, College Campus Program

  • Researching potential partners
  • Outreach and vetting
  • Develop package and presentation
  • Book speaking gigs for Journey founders
  • Test/iterate/refine Training and sales package for college ambassadors
  • Represent Journey in meetings, and at relevant confernces/meetups/
  • Industry events

 

2. Build Program

  • Secure partnerships with college ambassadors at local and national universities
  • Train & Coach ambassadors to be successful in filling Journeys
  • Develop schedule of communications, management, metrics and goals, professional development  

 

3. Run Program  

  • Manage program backend, logistics and budgets
  • Liaise with college ambassadors
  • Oversee intern and other support staff
  • Report on goals/metrics
  • Integrate with marketing dept. and overall Journey sales and development strategies

2. IMPACT INTERN

 Journey is a public benefit corp creating impact-driven travel experiences that transform both the communities they visit and the travelers they engage. 

To date, we’ve led 17 Journeys, funded and built 130+ homes, schools, and skate parks, and taken more than 450 people to Latin America to help build, learn and connect. We're growing fast, and our team of 9 is HQ'd in Venice, CA (with a lot of travel/remote). 

Our partners and brand sponsors include Red Bull, Ellison Sunglasses, YouTube team Yes Theory, Elephant Pants, and more. Our Ambassador Program empowers Journeyers to help design and co-lead trips for their own communities.

We are looking for a rockstar Social Impact Intern for our LA office.

This role is for the right individual to be a key part of Journey’s growth and development, and includes:
- research and development on impact (nonprofit) partners and projects
- research and writing for funding grants and creative approaches to funding projects
- content creation to share upcoming projects and impact opportunities
- supporting and tracking crowdfunding initiatives and local events
- supporting the Chief Impact Officer Amy Merrill in managing partners and overseeing impact funding. 

This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in social entrepreneurship, cause marketing, and impact funding. 

Activities will help you develop the knowledge, skills and experience that will help you position yourself for desired work in the future.
You will also immerse your self in the LA tech and social entrepreneurship world, and build valuable relationships and connections that can drive your career forward. The work that you will be doing is integral to Journey, and will truly be making a difference in the lives of our partners’ beneficiaries and our participants.

The successful candidate should be interested in the following responsibilities:

1. Research and Development, impact opportunities
Researching potential new nonprofit partners for volunteer work and impact funding in Latin America and US
Engage via phone / email outreach
Outreach and vetting
Grants and proposals
Potential to represent the organization at tech meetups and relevant industry events

2. Content Marketing
Develop writeups, marketing materials, and other assets to share Journey’s impact with supporters and future Journeyers  

3. Administrative support
Create template outreach documents that streamline consistent and effective marketing outreach to these entities
Help produce local events
Manage and support crowdfunders
Manage program back end as needed.

3. MARKETING INTERN

We are looking for a rockstar Marketing Intern for our LA office.

This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in social entrepreneurship, cause marketing, and impact funding.

Activities will help you develop the knowledge, skills and experience that will help you position yourself for desired work in the future.

You will also immerse yourself in the LA tech and social entrepreneurship world, and build valuable relationships and connections that can drive your career forward. The successful candidate should be interested in the following responsibilities:

 

1. Social Media

• Thorough knowledge of brand promotion and content marketing on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram

• Comfortable with scheduling posts for our pages on a weekly basis

• Understands how to leverage these pages to identify new leads for Journey

 

2. Graphic Design 

• Use basic to advanced graphic design skills for social / web / other marketing content 

• Create template outreach documents that streamline consistent and effective marketing outreach

• Manage web content and design new pages (template site) 
 

3. Business Development

• Research and engage potential partners, sponsors, and social media influencers via social/phone/email outreach

• Create client outreach materials and presentations for Journey to increase our reach in specific markets. 

• Potential to represent the organization at tech meetups and relevant industry events
